The animal cell is fascinating to see in the detail provided by a model at this scale. The complicated and detailed world of the cell is truly a microcosm of discovery for students learning about science. Specifically, this model recreates the cell membrane, cytoplasm, mitochondria, lysosomes, ribosomes, centrioles, the Nucleus, and everyone's favourite, the golgi apparatus. Animal cells are eukaryotic cells or cells with a membrane-bound nucleus. Unlike prokaryotic cells, DNA in animal cells is housed within the nucleus. Organelles have a wide range of responsibilities that include everything from producing hormones and enzymes to providing energy for animal cells.
